Puerto Vallarta Travel Information
Puerto Vallarta is the star's choice for Mexican get-a-way hot spots. These days Puerto Vallarta is hot, not just in temperature but also popularity. Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta are both popular get-a-way locations for the stars. Puerto Vallarta is situated in the Bahia de Banderas, a 14 mile long bay lined with sandy beaches. Puerto Vallarta is the second largest resort on the Pacific coast after Acapulco, but despite its resort status Puerto Vallarta has managed to maintain its own character. The charm of Puerto Vallarta is due to a comfortable blend of cosmopolitan first worldliness and the colonial features of its historic old town. Luxury hotels, restaurants, bars, and shopping centres have spread out along the coast on either side of the original town, allowing Puerto Vallarta to grow without sacrificing its colonial charms. It is unrivalled as a city boasting the services offered by a cosmopolitan hub alongside the simpler pleasures of a Mexican village. Outdoor recreation is limitless, especially the diversity of water sports available, including diving and snorkelling, while whales and dolphins inhabit the bay and can often be seen. The nightlife in Puerto Vallarta offers something for everyone. There are nightclubs and all night discos, strip bars, live music clubs, bars serving up sundowner cocktails, restaurants that bring on bands after the food has been cleared away, folkloric dancing and Mexican fiestas, and hotel bars where visitors and locals alike gather over a drink for a chat at the end of the day. The centre of nightlife is the Malecon strip where the atmosphere is for the young and the young at heart. The South Side features a variety of alternative entertainment, including gay bars and strip shows.
People who have not visited Puerto Vallarta might not know that the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Predetor was filmed on site in Puerto Vallarta. There are many tours and activities available all along the Predetor set; however, these tours are not as elegant or luxurious as other opportunities within Puerto Vallarta.
Puerto Vallarta is also home to many all-inclusive resorts. One of such resorts being the Grand Velas All Suites and Spa Resort. The Grand Velas is a truly amazing all-inclusive resort offering a full-featured 15,000+ Square Foot Spa facility. The resort is worth visiting for the spa amenities alone; however, they also offer georgious suites and an amazing view all around the resort. A definite consideration for anyone considering a Puerto Vallarta Vacation.
Puerto Vallarta, MexicoAlong the southern part of Playa de los Muertos, Playa del Sol offers a diversity of attractions. Puerta Vallarta, Mexico is magic, with the charm only found in Mexican towns that seem to lose themselves in time, but ask of the present the comforts of a state-of-the-art resort, which is a rare contrast. Puerto Vallarta has a wide variety of hotels, motels and properties for rent to suit all demands and pockets. Puerto Vallarta is the choice of many, for weddings, for that long overdue vacation, or for a long-to-be- remembered honeymoon. Puerto Vallarta has all the quaintness, without compromising on any of the modern conveniences. Puerto Vallarta's sunny weather is ideal with average temperatures in the mid-eighties. Puerto Vallarta is a city of 250,000 residents and there is probably a restaurant for each Vallartense, with foods that vary from traditionalMexican fare to German, French, Greek, Italian, Chinese, Japanese. Puerto Vallarta, once a sleepy fishing village is now a major tourist destination, however, it has managed to retain the charming ambiance of a typical cobble stoned Mexican town. Puerto Vallarta remained a small village until 1963. Puerto Vallarta now has over 250,000 inhabitants, and welcomes more than 1. Puerto Vallartais a paradise full of activities and entertainment for the whole family, a huge bay that will fulfill all of your expectatives and needs. Puerto Vallarta is also home to some of the best year around Big Game Fishing in the world. Puerto Vallarta is host to some good Resort Spas. Puerto Vallarta is considered the ideal vacation spot for the first time Mexico visitor, while also boasting enough diversity of activities to keep people coming back over and over again.
Puerta Vallarta Hotels
Marina Puerto Vallarta offers a selection of European-styled hotels. Luxury hotels and shopping centers have sprung up north and south of the original town, allowing Vallarta to grow into a city of 250,000 without sacrificing its considerable charms. Airports, hotels, and highways have supplanted palm groves and fishing shacks. The Molino de Agua Hotel located right at the mouth of the Rio Cuale in downtown PV, is one of my favorite hotels ever. To the north, the Hotel Zone offers a parade of hotels and wide sandy beaches; Marina Vallarta boasts championship golf, a world-class marina and deluxe resorts; and Nuevo Vallarta hosts a self-contained getaway approximately a half-hour north of downtown.

My wife and I honeymooned in the Grand Velas Resort in Puerto Vallarta; actually the Grand Velas are in Nuevo Vallarta. Regardless, it was a beautiful resort and an amazing experience. The spa was wonderful, the resort was wonderful, and the service was great. I would recommend it to anyone.
Also, the Grand Velas offers 3 or 4 sit-down restaurants which all require reservations and nice attire. However, my wife and I enjoyed the food at the poolside grill. The grill will make nearly anything for you from authentic Mexican to medium-rare ribeye steaks.
We also had the privilege of staying in two different rooms during our stay and we thought both rooms were very nice.
